The best Shopify SEO tools are a mix of all-in-one SEO apps, a few specialist apps for jobs like structured data and redirects, and three free Google tools every store needs. For most stores, one all-in-one app plus Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Google Merchant Center covers the basics. Add a specialist app only when you hit a problem your main app doesn't solve.
Below you'll find a quick comparison table, followed by a detailed review of each tool: who it's for, what it costs, what it does well and where it falls short. We've included the big names with thousands of reviews, plus a few hidden gems that most lists miss.
Full disclosure: SiteGuru is our own tool. We've listed it in its group like any other tool, weaknesses included. Prices and ratings were checked on the Shopify App Store and vendor websites in October 2026.

All-in-one Shopify SEO apps and tools
An all-in-one SEO app covers the everyday work: meta tags, image alt texts, broken links, structured data and site speed. Pick one. Running two of them at once often means duplicate structured data and two apps compressing the same images.
1. Booster: the most reviewed Shopify SEO app

Who it's for: store owners who want an app that fixes common SEO issues automatically, without much hands-on work.
Pricing: free plan. Pro costs $39/month and Premium $69/month, both with a 14-day free trial. See the Booster App Store listing.
Key features
- Automatic fixes for common SEO issues, such as missing meta tags
- Broken link detection and fixing
- Structured data (on Pro)
- Image compression and Search Console metrics (on Premium)
Our review: Booster has more reviews than any other all-in-one SEO app on the Shopify App Store, and its "set it and forget it" approach suits busy store owners. The catch is that the features most stores want, like image compression and Search Console data, sit in the $69 Premium plan. If Booster isn't for you, SearchPie (free plan, Premium from $39/month) offers a very similar set of features, with extra focus on structured data.
Strengths
- Very little manual work once it's set up
- Large user base and a usable free plan
Weaknesses
- Image compression and Search Console data only on Premium ($69/month)
- Some reviewers report problems on stores with multiple markets or languages, and one says uninstalling left theme code behind
2. Avada: a generous free plan for images and speed

Who it's for: new and small stores that want to start with SEO without paying.
Pricing: free plan with 100 image optimizations, 20 on-page audits and 100 AI credits. Pro costs $34.95/month and Enterprise $99/month, both with a 7-day free trial. See the Avada App Store listing.
Key features
- Image compression, resizing and AI-written alt texts
- Speed tools such as lazy loading and file minification
- Meta tags, structured data and broken link detection
- Sitemap and robots.txt tools (on Pro)
Our review: Avada is one of the most popular SEO apps on Shopify, and its free plan is enough to see whether an SEO app helps your store. It's strongest on images and speed. For keyword research or rankings you'll need something else.
Strengths
- One of the most useful free plans in the category
- Pro plan unlocks unlimited image optimization and audits
Weaknesses
- No keyword, ranking or revenue data
- The AI audit agent is only on the $99 Enterprise plan
3. Tapita: unlimited audits on a small budget

Who it's for: stores that want regular SEO audits and AI-written metadata for under $10 a month.
Pricing: free plan with unlimited on-page audits and 900 image compressions a month. Business costs $9.99/month and Premium $49.99/month. Add-ons for extra audit pages or AI credits cost $5 to $60 a month. See the Tapita App Store listing.
Key features
- Unlimited on-page SEO audits
- AI-written meta titles, descriptions and alt texts
- Page speed and image optimization
- Broken link detection with automatic redirects (on Business)
Our review: Tapita gives you a lot for very little. The free plan includes unlimited audits, which most apps limit, and the Business plan is one of the cheapest paid plans in this list. Watch the add-ons: if you need more AI credits or audit pages, the price goes up.
Strengths
- Unlimited audits, even on the free plan
- Low-cost paid plan
Weaknesses
- Extra fees for more AI credits or audit pages
- No keyword or revenue data
4. SiteGuru: see which SEO fixes will earn you money

Who it's for: store owners and agencies who want to know which products, collections and keywords are worth working on, based on revenue.
Pricing: $49/month for 5 sites, $99/month for 15 sites and $199/month for 50 sites. There's a 6-week free trial with no credit card, and you can keep using the free features after the trial. See the pricing page.
Key features
- Organic revenue for every product and collection page, from Google Analytics 4
- Keyword opportunities ranked by how much revenue they could bring in
- Product-level checks for title, meta description, H1, product structured data and internal links
- Support for Shopify crawl signatures, so crawls don't get blocked
- A weekly to-do list, white-label reports and a connection to Claude or ChatGPT
Our review: SiteGuru doesn't change your store for you. It tells you where to look. It connects your store to Google Analytics and Search Console and shows organic revenue for each product and collection, so you can see which pages are worth fixing first. That makes it a good match for one of the apps above: SiteGuru shows what to fix, and the app makes the change.
Strengths
- Links SEO work to revenue, not only rankings
- Works across several stores, which suits agencies
Weaknesses
- Doesn't write fixes into your store, so you make changes in your Shopify admin or with an app
- Revenue data needs a Google Analytics 4 connection
5. Morningscore: a full SEO suite that pushes fixes to Shopify (hidden gem)

Who it's for: stores and small teams who want rank tracking, keyword research and automatic fixes in one place.
Pricing: from $69/month (Lite: 3 websites, 100 tracked keywords, 100 AI credits). Business costs $99, Pro $159 and Premium $299 a month. There's a 14-day free trial with no credit card. See the pricing page and the Shopify connection.
Key features
- A Shopify connection that scans your store and pushes fixes, such as titles, meta descriptions and alt texts
- Rank tracking and keyword research
- AI search visibility tracking
- Link monitoring and competitor tracking
- An AI writer for articles
Our review: Morningscore is missing from most Shopify SEO lists because it isn't a Shopify App Store app. You install its Shopify connection from Morningscore's own website. That's a shame, because it's one of the few tools that combines a full SEO suite with fixes written straight into your store.
Strengths
- Rankings, keywords and fixes in one tool
- Tracks AI search visibility as well as Google rankings
Weaknesses
- Fixes use AI credits, and the Lite plan includes 100 a month
- No free plan
6. Smart SEO: a cheap Pro plan with AI search tools (hidden gem)

Who it's for: stores that want a full SEO app with AI features at a low monthly price.
Pricing: free plan. Pro costs $14.99/month, Business $24.99/month and Premium $49.99/month, each with a 7-day free trial. See the Smart SEO App Store listing.
Key features
- AI-written meta tags, alt texts and product descriptions
- Structured data, image optimization and page speed
- Broken link detection and a backlinks report
- Indexing tools: IndexNow, noindex tags and sitemap management
- AI search tools, including a connection for AI assistants
Our review: Smart SEO has a perfect 5.0 rating, and its Pro plan costs less than half of what the big names charge. It covers more ground than most apps at this price, including a backlinks report and indexing tools.
Strengths
- Low price for a broad set of features
- Strong ratings
Weaknesses
- The free plan audits only 20 pages
- Unlimited audits only on Premium
7. StoreSEO: fix your SEO from Claude or ChatGPT (hidden gem)

Who it's for: stores with a small catalog, and store owners who already work in an AI assistant.
Pricing: free plan for up to 25 products. Lite costs $14.99/month (100 products), Essential $39.99/month (250 products) and Advanced $249.99/month (10,000 products), each with a 7-day free trial. See the StoreSEO App Store listing.
Key features
- A Claude and ChatGPT connector, so you can write and fix SEO from your AI assistant
- Preview of meta titles and descriptions before you publish
- Image compression and bulk alt texts
- Sitemaps, Search Console reports and structured data, including FAQ schema
Our review: StoreSEO is less known than the big names, but has a perfect 5.0 rating. Its AI assistant connector is useful if you already ask Claude or ChatGPT for help with product copy. The pricing is the thing to check: it's based on product count, so it gets expensive for larger catalogs.
Strengths
- Work on your SEO from Claude or ChatGPT
- Good value for small catalogs
Weaknesses
- A store with more than 250 products needs the $249.99 plan
- Multilingual SEO only on the Advanced plan
Specialist Shopify SEO apps
A specialist app does one job, and usually does it better than an all-in-one app. Add one when your main app doesn't cover a job well enough. Check for overlap first: if your all-in-one app already adds structured data, a second structured data app can create duplicates.
8. Judge.me: product reviews that can show as stars in Google

Who it's for: every store that sells products and wants reviews on its product pages.
Pricing: free forever plan. The Awesome plan costs $15/month, with a 15-day free trial. See the Judge.me App Store listing.
Key features
- Product reviews, star ratings and photo reviews
- Review structured data, so Google can show star ratings in search results (free plan)
- Google reviews sync (free plan)
- Google Shopping integration (Awesome plan)
Our review: Judge.me is the most reviewed app in the whole Shopify SEO category. Reviews help SEO in two ways: they add fresh, unique text to your product pages, and they can earn you star ratings in search results, which makes your listing stand out.
Strengths
- Review structured data on the free plan
- Huge user base and strong ratings
Weaknesses
- The SEO benefit only comes once you collect reviews
- Google decides whether to show star ratings, so they're not guaranteed
9. TinySEO: image compression and speed

Who it's for: stores with lots of product images that load slowly.
Pricing: free plan with 50 image optimizations a month. Beginner costs $14/month (1,500 images), Advanced $23/month (5,000) and Expert $49/month (15,000), each with a 7-day free trial. See the TinySEO App Store listing.
Key features
- Image compression, resizing, alt texts and SEO-friendly file names
- Lazy loading and JavaScript and CSS minification
- Broken link detection and 404 redirects
- Structured data and IndexNow
Our review: TinySEO (formerly TinyIMG) started as an image optimizer and has grown into a broad SEO app. It's still at its best with images: if heavy product photos slow your store down, this is the place to start. Read our guide to images and pagespeed to see why that matters.
Strengths
- Strong, automatic image optimization
- Perfect 5.0 rating on the App Store
Weaknesses
- Plans are priced by the number of images you optimize
- Image work won't fix a slow theme or too many apps
10. Hyperspeed: advanced page speed (hidden gem)

Who it's for: stores that already compress their images but still have slow pages.
Pricing: from $59/month, with a 7-day free trial. The Professional plan costs $150/month. No free plan. See the Hyperspeed App Store listing.
Key features
- Critical CSS inlining and JavaScript deferral
- Code minification and caching
- Optimization of how other apps load
- Image lazy loading and preloading
Our review: Many speed apps focus on images. Hyperspeed works on the code that slows down Shopify stores: the theme's CSS and JavaScript, and the scripts other apps add. It's less known than the big names, but it's the app to look at when image compression isn't enough. Our guide on improving page speed explains what these changes do.
Strengths
- Tackles theme and app code, not only images
- Built for Shopify badge
Weaknesses
- Expensive compared to other apps on this list
- It changes how your theme loads, so test your store after installing
11. Webrex: structured data for products, reviews and FAQs

Who it's for: stores that want rich results in Google, such as price, stock and review stars.
Pricing: free plan with unlimited product structured data. Growth costs $9.99/month and Pro $29.99/month, both with a 14-day free trial. See the Webrex App Store listing.
Key features
- Product structured data, including variants (free)
- Organization, local business, breadcrumb and article structured data (free)
- Review structured data from Judge.me and 35+ other review apps, plus FAQ and shipping and returns data (Growth)
- Duplicate structured data cleanup and rich result monitoring (Pro)
Our review: Webrex has more reviews than any other structured data app we looked at, and its free plan covers the most important part: product data. Many Shopify themes already add some product structured data, which can clash with an app's. Webrex's duplicate cleanup solves that, but it's only on the Pro plan. For more depth, JSON-LD for SEO ($399/year) is a well-known paid option. Read our guide to structured data to learn how it works.
Strengths
- Product structured data on the free plan
- Works with most review apps
Weaknesses
- Review structured data needs a paid plan
- Duplicate cleanup only on Pro
12. SC Easy Redirects: redirects and 404 pages

Who it's for: stores that remove products often, or are moving to Shopify from another platform.
Pricing: free plan for bulk redirects. Pro costs $14.99/month and Pro+ $39.99/month, both with a 7-day free trial. See the SC Easy Redirects App Store listing.
Key features
- Bulk redirect imports, useful for migrations
- Automatic 404 detection and alerts (Pro)
- Redirect patterns that catch future broken URLs (Pro)
- AI-suggested redirects for 404 pages (Pro+)
Our review: Shopify has a basic redirect tool, but it doesn't tell you when a page breaks. SC Easy Redirects finds 404 pages for you and helps you redirect them in bulk. That matters for stores that remove sold-out products. See our guide on redirects for when to use which type.
Strengths
- Finds broken pages automatically
- Built for Shopify badge
Weaknesses
- Automatic 404 detection only on paid plans
- Several all-in-one apps already handle basic redirects
13. Avada AEO: an llms.txt file for AI search (hidden gem)

Who it's for: stores that want to experiment with AI search, at no cost.
Pricing: free. See the Avada AEO App Store listing.
Key features
- Creates and hosts an llms.txt file, a summary of your store written for AI tools
- Lets you choose which AI tools can use it: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and DeepSeek
- Lets you choose which products, collections and blog posts to include
- Updates the file on a schedule, so prices and stock stay current
Our review: Many new Shopify apps promise more traffic from AI search. This one is free, simple and has no reviews below four stars. Keep your expectations realistic, though. Google says you don't need special AI files to appear in its AI features. Treat llms.txt as a cheap experiment, not a ranking boost. Our guide on ranking in AI search covers what matters more.
Strengths
- Free, with no reviews below four stars
- Keeps the file current without manual work
Weaknesses
- Google says you don't need it for its AI features
- No way to measure whether it brings you traffic
Free tools every Shopify store needs
These three tools are free, made by Google, and the foundation for every other tool on this list. Set them up first.
14. Google Search Console: see how Google sees your store
Who it's for: every Shopify store.
Pricing: free. Sign up at Google Search Console.
Key features
- The search queries that bring visitors to your store, with clicks and positions
- Which pages Google has indexed, and why others aren't
- Sitemap submission (Shopify creates your sitemap for you)
- Alerts for structured data errors and security issues
Our review: Search Console is the only place where you get Google's own data on how your store performs in search. Most SEO tools, SiteGuru included, use its data. Follow our guide to set up Google Search Console.
Strengths
- Google's own data, for free
- Shows indexing problems no app can see
Weaknesses
- Shows data, but doesn't tell you what to fix
- No revenue data
15. Google Analytics 4: see what your organic traffic earns
Who it's for: every Shopify store.
Pricing: free. You connect it to Shopify through the free Google & YouTube app, as Shopify's setup guide explains.
Key features
- Sessions, users and revenue per traffic source, including organic search
- Revenue per landing page, so you can see which product pages sell
- Ecommerce events, such as add to cart and purchase
Our review: Search Console tells you how many people click through from Google. Google Analytics 4 tells you what they do next, and whether they buy. Without it, you can't tell which SEO work pays off.
Strengths
- Connects SEO traffic to sales
- Quick to set up through the Google & YouTube app
Weaknesses
- Not built for SEO, so organic revenue per product takes some digging
- The reports can feel complicated at first
16. Google Merchant Center: free product listings on Google

Who it's for: every store that sells physical products.
Pricing: free. You connect it to Shopify through the free Google & YouTube app.
Key features
- Sends your products, prices and stock to Google
- Free listings across Google Search, Images, Lens, YouTube, Gemini and the Shopping tab
- Product shipping and return details
- Reports on product data errors
Our review: Many store owners think Merchant Center is only for paid Shopping ads. It isn't: once your products are in Merchant Center, they can show up for free across Google. The Google & YouTube app handles the setup. If you need more control over your product feed, Simprosys (from $4.99/month) is the most popular feed app. Learn more about using product feeds for SEO.
Strengths
- Free product visibility across Google
- Easy to set up through Shopify
Weaknesses
- Google decides when to show your products
- The Google & YouTube app gives you little control over your feed
How we picked these tools
The SEO category of the Shopify App Store lists more than 1,200 apps, so we didn't try to cover them all. We picked the top players and a few hidden gems, based on:
- App Store ratings and review counts. The big names in this list each have thousands of reviews. The hidden gems have fewer, but strong ratings.
- Other comparisons. We read the most popular Shopify SEO app lists and noted which tools come up again and again.
- One pick per job. For the specialist apps, we chose one strong app per task instead of listing every option.
- Our own experience. We audit Shopify stores in SiteGuru every week, and the same problems keep coming up: slow images, missing structured data and broken product URLs.
Every price and rating comes from the tool's own App Store listing or pricing page, checked in October 2026.
Is Shopify good for SEO?
Yes, Shopify covers the SEO basics well. Out of the box, you can edit page titles, meta descriptions and URLs. Shopify also creates your sitemap and adds canonical tags automatically, as described in Shopify's SEO overview, and lets you edit your robots.txt file.
What it doesn't do is tell you what's wrong. Shopify won't warn you about missing alt texts, broken links or slow pages, and it can't show you which products earn money from search. That's where the tools in this list come in. Our guide to SEO for Shopify explains the built-in features in more detail.
How to choose a Shopify SEO app
- Set up the free Google tools first. Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Merchant Center cost nothing and give you the data every other tool needs.
- Pick one all-in-one app. Start on its free plan and upgrade only when you hit a limit.
- Find out what's costing you the most. A tool like SiteGuru, or a free Shopify SEO check, shows which products need work first.
- Add specialist apps only for gaps. Slow pages after image compression? Look at Hyperspeed. Lots of 404 pages? Add a redirect app.
- Avoid overlap. Two apps adding structured data, or two apps compressing images, can work against each other.
FAQ
What is the best SEO app for Shopify?
There's no single best app. For most stores, a free plan from Booster, Avada or Tapita is a good start. If you want to know which SEO fixes will earn you the most, add a platform like SiteGuru or Morningscore.
Are there free Shopify SEO tools?
Yes. Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 and Google Merchant Center are free. Most SEO apps in this list also have a free plan, and Avada AEO is completely free.
Do I need an SEO plugin for Shopify?
Not to get started: Shopify already lets you edit titles, meta descriptions and URLs. On Shopify, plugins are called apps, and they save you time once your store grows. They find issues for you, fix them in bulk and add structured data that most themes don't include.
Can I use more than one SEO app?
Yes, but pick apps that don't overlap. One all-in-one app plus one or two specialist apps works well. Two all-in-one apps usually means duplicate structured data and wasted money.
