Homepage

The homepage is the starting point of a website. If you enther the domain name of a website (www.example.com) in the browser's address bar without adding anything to it, you'll get the homepage.

Some sites use index.html or index.php as their homepage. For SEO, it's important to set up the homepage in the root of your site. If the homepage is index.php, you need to make sure that page works on and redirects to the root of your site. Otherwise, search engines may consider the root of your site (www.example.com/) and www.example.com/index.php as duplicate content.

Although fewer and fewer visitors enter your site via the homepage in recent years, it's a good idea to have a homepage that helps your visitors reach the most important content of your site in one click.
